Considering their aptidtude of developing games across multiple platforms, it’s very likely and lucrative that if they release Helldivers 2, it would likely be on PS4, PS5 and PC with cross play featured across all versions. Since Helldivers, Arrowhead has not released another game, which is very interesting since during the studios early years between 20 they released four games. Add this idea to things like Battle Passes and you have the groundwork for seasonal content. Helldivers 2 could very well be one of these ten games as the original had some live service ideas already implemented in 2015 including the ongoing planetary wars that would be affected by how many players are enlisting in the cause. Sony has made their desire public to create ten live service games by 2025. Helldivers was a retro style, top down shooter that featured a lot of modern elements including friendly fire and load outs, which helped it stand out. Crossplay was featured between all the PlayStation versions, which was pretty unheard of back in 2015.
